Privacy,
in plain sight.
Effective October 10, 2026
This policy covers the FilmVibes app and filmvibes.app. “FilmVibes,” “we,” and “us” refer to the team providing the app and website. You can reach us through our contact form.
1. Photos and videos
The app processes photos and videos on your device and stores captures in its local library. We do not operate a service that automatically uploads your library to us. If you export, share, back up, or sync media using Apple or another service, that service’s policies apply. Removing the app can remove its locally stored media; keep your own backup.
2. Permissions and preferences
Camera access enables the viewfinder and capture. Microphone access enables video sound. Photo-library add access enables saving to Apple Photos. Local-network access enables companion monitoring. The app stores settings such as your selected preset and tuning on your device. You can change permissions in your device’s Settings.
3. Companion monitoring
When you connect a companion device, preview frames, camera state, and control messages are exchanged with that device using Apple’s local-device connectivity framework. These messages are not sent through a FilmVibes-operated cloud server. Only connect devices you trust; disconnect when you finish.
4. Speech features
Teleprompter and voice-follow functionality are currently disabled in the public-facing app configuration. This policy does not promise that any future speech feature runs entirely on-device. Before enabling such a feature for release, we will explain its processing and update permissions and this policy as needed.
5. Website visits
This website does not include advertising trackers or analytics scripts, and does not set its own tracking cookies. The hosting provider may process technical request information, such as IP addresses and request logs, to deliver and secure the website. The hosting provider and its practices depend on where the site is deployed. Third-party links have their own policies.
6. Contact, support, and beta requests
When you submit a form, we receive the information you provide: your name, email, selected topic, message, and optional device or version details. We use it to respond, troubleshoot, handle privacy requests, or coordinate requested TestFlight access—not to sell your information or add you to an unrelated mailing list.
Forms are processed by Formspree, which may also process technical information for delivery and spam prevention. Do not send passwords, sensitive personal information, or private photos. If you accept a TestFlight invitation, Apple’s TestFlight terms and privacy practices also apply.
7. Retention and security
App media remains on your device until you delete it or remove the app, subject to backups you control. We retain support correspondence and beta-request information for as long as reasonably needed for the request, service administration, and any legal obligations. Formspree and hosting providers may have their own retention periods. You can ask us to delete correspondence we control. No transmission or storage system is completely secure.
8. Your choices and rights
You can decline optional permissions, stop monitoring, delete local media, and ask us to access, correct, or delete information provided through our forms. Depending on where you live, additional privacy rights may apply. Submit a privacy request using the email associated with your message. We may need information to verify the request. Deleting our correspondence does not delete copies held independently by Apple, your devices, or other services.
9. Children and international processing
The website’s contact and beta-request services are not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us. Our service providers may process information outside your country, under their applicable terms and safeguards.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. For questions, contact FilmVibes.
